Heavy Equipment Mechanic

San Diego

Pay starting at $25 DOE

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery and vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines and mechanical systems. An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions. Our Service Technician is responsible for demonstrating progression in competencies on repair of JLG and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines.

Skills

• Experience with JLG equipment encouraged to apply
• Proven experience as an Aerial Lift or Diesel Mechanic
• Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
• Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)
• Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
• A problem-solving ability
• High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble lift machines or mechanical components according to requirements
• Inspect lift machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability and safety
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
• Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
• Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
• Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machinery
• Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems)
• Keep logs of work and report on issues

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of construction equipment experience. (Loading and Unloading)
• CDL Class A
• Safe driving record (MVR and previous employment)
• 2+ years of current CDL driving experience
• Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical requirements

Class A tow truck drivers encouraged to apply! No OTR, short hauls only.

Responsibilities of the CDL Class A Truck Driver

Deliver goods while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over inter-city routes or spanning several cities. Running Area: Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego County.

• Record deliveries and drive via e-logs, etc.
• Drive long distances and follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Fill up on fuel, clean truck and do routine pre-trip inspections.
• Report to dispatchers and record any incidents.
